Acid Overload: Keeping a balanced pH in the body

Posted by admin on May 20, 2009

I recently got a newsletter from my friend Tracy about the dangers of having a constant state of acidic pH in the body.

The ideal pH balanced diet is approximately 25% acidic and 75% alkaline, but most Americans have a much higher acidic percentage, due to acidic diets, liquids and prescruiption meidications.

The long term issue with the blood being too acidic is that it puts stress on many functions of the body.  The livers ability to filter toxins becomes impared and the body starts to rob pullng minderals from bones, teeth and tissues instead of from the food that you are consuming.

On a practical level, a body that is too acidic becomes at risk for obesity, mood swings, lack of energy, poor immune system, poor healing and recovery, and the body becomes a place where fungus, bacteria and yeast thrive.

Here is a recipe that will help you balance the pH in your body. It should be pretty easy to create this habit in your life. Befoe going to bed have an 8oz glass of water with the following essential oils mixed in:

1 drop Citrus Fresh Oil Blend

1 Drop Orange Oil

1 Drop Lemon Oil

1 drop Grapefruit Oil

The next two ingredients are also Young Living products. Fabulous for balancing the pH in the body.

1 Teaspoon of AlkaLime (this is a supplement)

2 ounces of Ningxia Red (which is a juice blend that has so many benefits, i could - and might - write a full article just about that)

DIgest this! Peppermint works great on Digestive Issues

Posted by admin on May 18, 2009

I’m writing about this because it recently came up with one of my aquaintances that they were having large intestine issues… In their case, it was diverticulosis, but in researching which oil would work best for him, I was reminded that peppermint essential oil works wonders on many areas of digestion.

In my friend’s case, we made a warm compress with the oil and applied it twice a day to the area that was in discomfort.

This is the best way to use it if you are using the lower grade forms that you buy at supermarkets like Whole Foods.

If you are buying essential oils wholesale from Young Living, then you can actually put a drop or two of the peppermint essential oil in a glass of water and drink it.

I have done this on several occasions when I have had indigestion.  Calms my stomach right now.

Remember not to consume the lesser grade oils (from the supermarket) because they often contain byproducts that are harmful when ingested and, quite frankly, aren’t nearly as effective as the Young Living when applying topically. But I suppose it’s better than nothing.

Anyway, the point is, peppermint essential oil is a good oil to keep on hand for a number of health conditions that arise. This oil should be top of consciousness for almost anything related to digestion, and if you are using Young Living, you have a wide variety of ways to alleviate your digestive condition.

Rose Essential Oils Wholesale

Posted by admin on Feb 16, 2009

If you don’t love rose essential oil, you probably haven’t smelled the real thing!

It’s an expensive oil wholesale (and even more retail), but TOTALLY worth it!

But like all essential oils, be careful where you buy them. You want the real thing because the real rose essential oils is what has the healing qualities that are so highly touted and the reason the oil is so expensive.

There are several kinds of rose oil (but not all are rose essential oil)…

  • The crap (pardon my language) you find in drug stores, specialty shops in the mall, carnivals and street fairs, etc…
  • To quote a relative of mine:

“I can’t stand the smell of rose oil! it makes me sick!”

She was probably smelling the synthetic stuff, which is really heavy and grossly sweet.

Because rose essential oil is so expensive, there are many synthetics out there. Stay away from those! They have been chemically constructed in a laboratory to smell like rose and have none of the healing qualities of real rose essential oil and, quite frankly, they smell awful.

FYI, if you find a rose oil that is under $20 it’s probably a synthetic, but it could also be a dilution of the real stuff or just a really, really small amount of the pure oil. Do your research before you buy.

  • Rose (absolute)
  • Very high quality oil from Morocco. It is the best choice when using rose essential oil as a perfume. It opens the heart chakra (perfect for socializing and dates) and creates a very peaceful vibe to the wearer (as opposed to the synthetics which has a vibe like fingernails scratching on chalk boards!)

  • Rose (Bulgarian or Turkish)
  • This is also referred to as damask rose or rose otto.

This is the most superb quality of rose essential oil in the world (Bulgarian) and should be used as a first choice, rather than the absolute, for its healing qualities (though the absolute works quite well, too.)

Use this oil for female reproductive issues, such as cramps, PMS, labor pains, etc., but pregnant women should not use this essential oil.

I have found rose works great on depression, is soothing to emotional trauma (like a relative passing away), and for everyday stress and tension.

Both rose absolute and Bulgarian/Turkish are excellent for the skin and they are used in many high quality skin products.

Rose essential oil is soothing and can balance the emotions and the spirit. The scent is sometimes considered to be more feminine because it is floral, but men can definitely benefit from this oil as well.

After my dad died, a healer applied rose and neroli to the palm of my hand and asked me to take a deep breath. With that breath I felt tons of tension and trauma drain out of my body and mind instantly. I had been carrying that tension for a few weeks and it was the first time I felt a warm peaceful calm within my core.

Today I buy real rosewater from the local healthfood store and add a drop or two of neroli essential oil to the rosewater. I shake it and spray it on before I go out.

When I wear the rosewater spray or essential oil, I find that I flow much better in life. The minor upsets in life do not phase me, and the major ones… well, nothing feels like a major one when I’m wearing rose essential oil.

For Aches: Essential Aromatherapy

Posted by admin on Feb 16, 2009

I can’t remember where I got this quickie to help muscle aches, but I have been using it for years.

Again, please only use Young Living Essential Oils Wholesale (which you can get from me) because they are considered “medical grade” and very pure… therefore the most effective with no byproducts.

First apply lavender oil directly to area.  Then apply Majoram afterwards.

For me and those I’ve mentioned this method of using oils, the relief has been almost immediate.

The Wonders of Coconut Oil: Clear Skin, Weight Management, Circulation

Posted by admin on Jan 30, 2009

Lately the beneficial uses of coconut oil have been brought back to my attention. I think it’s been on my mind lately because I’ve been in a lot of cold environments.  This isn’t exactly about essential oils wholesale, but it is related because coconut oil is a wonderful oil to mix with aromatherapy essential oils.

Two years ago I started to eat a lot of coconut oii because I found a phenomenal book called Eat Fat, Lose Fat: The Healthy Alternative to Trans Fats.  One of my clients had recommended the eating philosophy of Weston A. Price who was a big advocate of consuming fats, especially virgin coconut oil.

Well, I must say that that recommendation helped me tremendously in a number of different health areas. Once I began eating the coconut oil, I noticed that my hands and feet never got cold.  I was more satiated from meals.  My skin looked great.

TIP: Coconut oil makes a great all-over body moisterizer.  You will feel greasy if you put it on dry, but if you put it on right out of the shower before you towel off, you will notice that the oil soaks into the body really well.

Anyway, I started to mix it with different essential oils for different health reasons and it worked quite well.

There is a ton of information about virgin coconut oil on the internet (make note that I keep saying VIRGIN coconut oil - you don’t want the processed stuff… That’s what got coconut oil a bad rep in the first place.) Just Google it (or go to http://www.westonaprice.org/ and you’ll find great stuff.

Another great book to get about it is Nourishing Traditions:  The Cookbook that Challenges Politically Correct Nutrition and the Diet Dictocrats.

Using coconut oil for better skin

Frankincense and helichrysum are great for acne-prone skin, and work even better with the coconut oil because of its anti-bacterial qualities.

If you rub a bit of this blend (1T coconut oil with 2-3 drops essential oil) after you wash your face (morning and night) you should see some nice improvement in a week or so.

Frankincense Essential Oil… I can see the Silver Lining!

Posted by admin on Jan 23, 2009

Frankincense essential oil, made from a tree that grows in southern Arabia, is a biblical scent associated with the Roman Catholic Church (often burned with myrrh in churches).

For that reason, the scent has a very ethereal effect on me (as is true for other people) because I associate it with religious rites.

2000 years ago, this essential oil was used to treat a majority of the health issues of that time.

Frankincense (also called Olibenum) is great to use externally. It makes an excellent astringent for the skin when mixed with water. I have also heard it works well on acne, but I haven’t tried that treatment.

The scent also relieves stress, calms the system and helps individuals to frame situations. It might not transform the situation, but it will help in gaining a more expansive, positive way of viewing our world.

That’s why I like to refer to frankincense as the oil that helps us “see the silver lining around the cloud!”

It’s been said that Frankincense eliminates cancer cells and immune stimulating.  I not sure about using it alone, but it would probably be good to use along with more “traditional” treatment.  Ask your doctor, but most doctors will probably say it won’t affect anything either way.  You just want to make sure it doesn’t interact negatively if the person is taking any medication.

Now, with Young Living, the “Supplemental Facts” are supplied on the side of the bottle.  This means it is ok to consume internally.  Young Living oils are the highest quality you can get - they are unadulterated - unlike the perfume essential oils you can buy in the store.

Therefore, if you have frankincense essential oil that is NOT Young Living, DO NOT take it internally.

Julie Chertow mentioned it this way to me in an email she sent recently:

. . .if you are operating under the “English Model” of
Aromatherapy then you will be appalled at what I’m writing
here.
. .
. . . because the English model of Aromatherapy dictates to
never ingest an oil or use on the body neet (undiluted).

There is truth to that - because if you are using a “perfume
grade” essential oil (and many essential oils used under the
English Model of Aromatherapy are perfume grade) you would
not want to use on the body neet or ingest.

However, when we move into the use of therapeutic grade
essential oils (which you will find in the French and German
models of
Aromatherapy- and we lean towards those models in Young
Living) where there are no additives, fixatives, or
adulterations ~ then using the oils neet, or undiluted on
the body (with the exception of a few ‘hot’ oils), is not a
problem - and many of these oils can even be ingested.

You might be saying “Well, who says?”  And I can say to you
“the FDA says!”

For example - look at a bottle of Young Living’s
Frankincense oil (which I’m going to show you on the video
how I take drops of this internally).  You will see on the
label “Supplemental Facts”.  This is the same Supplemental
Facts type of label that you will find on boxes and cans of
food in your grocery stores - mandated by the FDA!

And here’s the real tip - you KNOW that an essential oil is
extremely high quality and therapeutic grade if it has that
on the label (which is not to say that oils that don’t have
that are not therapeutic grade).

Additionally, frankincense is the aromatic resin of boswellia serrata which currently being used by a number of natropaths, acupuncturists and other alternative healers to help with arthritis, digestive disorders, respiratory ailments and other joint diseases.  You can read more about it by clicking here.

“Give the Gift of Health one Drop at a Time”

Posted by admin on Jan 22, 2009

Here is the link to listen to a one hour teleconference call with Julie Chertow.

It was geared for massage therapists but really there is a lot of valuable essential oil education in there.

If you hear a lot of silence in the first part of the call, it is because the recording started earlier than the host of the call had realized.  So hang in there and it will begin about 10 minutes later.

Here’s the link to the recording

Enjoy!

Julie Chertow
=============================

FYI: There were so many questions that we have scheduled another teleconference with Julie on Monday, February 2nd at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time! Click here for the details.

Lastly, if you would like to purchase any of the Young Living essential oils (wholesale or otherwise) that Julie mentions on the call, please click on the “Contact Us” link at the right side of the page (near the top) and I will get back to you immediately.
